Information we collect
When you contact or book with us, we may collect information such as your name, telephone number, email address, postcode, pick-up address, driving experience and lesson requirements.
Our website also uses a small number of cookies, as explained in our Cookie Policy.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Respond to enquiries
- Arrange and manage driving lessons
- Contact you about bookings
- Process payments
- Provide driving tuition
- Deal with questions or complaints
- Keep appropriate business, accounting and legal records
Under UK data protection law, we use your information because it is needed to respond to your request or to provide the lessons you book, because we have a legal obligation (for example, keeping accounting records), or because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving our driving school.
Booking form, WhatsApp and maps
When you send the booking form, your details are sent to us by email and stored securely on our website so we can reply. Only we can see these records.
If you choose to message us on WhatsApp, your message is also handled by WhatsApp (Meta) under its own privacy policy.
To suggest pick-up locations, the text you type in the postcode field is checked with postcodes.io, a free UK postcode lookup service. If you press the location button, your approximate location is used once to find your nearest postcode and is not stored.
Maps on this website are provided by Google and only load when you choose to show them.
Payments
Apex School of Driving currently accepts cash and bank transfer.
We do not ask you to provide card or banking passwords through our website.
Sharing your information
We do not sell your personal information.
Where necessary, information may be shared with service providers who help us operate the website, communicate with customers, maintain business records or comply with legal requirements.
Young learners
Some of our pupils are under 18. We handle their information with extra care. If a parent or guardian books or pays for lessons, we may share relevant booking and payment details with them.
How long we keep information
We only keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including legal, accounting, tax and insurance requirements.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information.
To ask about your personal information, contact Apex School of Driving using the contact details on our website.
You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you believe your personal information has not been handled correctly: ico.org.uk.
